*Registration closes three working days before desired test date (except Saturday, Sunday or National Holidays).

Please note:

• A passport valid on the examination date is required in order to make an application, so please confirm the validity of test-taker's passport before inputting test-taker details. On your test day, you must bring test taker’s valid original passport which is the same valid passport that you used for your online application.
• You can choose from any available time slots for the speaking component. No changes will be accepted once your choice has been confirmed.

Test dates

Every day of the week except Mondays 

*We will send you the Confirmation Notice three days before your registered test date via e-mail.

Online result review will be available 1-5 days after the test.  
Your TRF will be also issued and posted 1-5 days after your test date.
Should the TRF release day falls on a Saturday, Sunday or National Holiday, we will send your TRF on the following business day.

Please note we will not inform you of IELTS results by phone or email. Official IELTS results release is always online via your test taker portal. 

FEES FOR ISSUING ADDITIONAL TEST REPORT FORM (TRF)

* Unless you specify that you would like to send TRF(s) by EMS, they will be sent by ordinary post or electronic transfer. Please be aware that for EMS, you will not be able to track the delivery status.
* Your IELTS result is valid for a two-year period. If your request comes at short notice before the score expires, we regret that we may not be able to process it.

FEES FOR ENQUIRY ON RESULTS (EOR)

Test takers can apply for an EOR if they feel they should have received a better score. The request must be made within 6 weeks of the test date. Candidates can choose to have one or more parts of their test re-marked. Fees for EOR are as below. A full refund of the EOR fee will be made if your result is changed to a higher band score. Your result will normally be available in 0-21 days, depending on several factors, including the number of sections requested for remarking. If you have not received a response after 21 days, please contact your test centre.

CANCELLATION

Candidate may cancel the test: 

・ Five days before the scheduled test date  –  will be eligible for a refund of 75% of the test fee
・Less than five days before the scheduled test date  – candidate will not be eligible for a refund, except in the exceptional circumstances stated below.

Candidate may be able to request for an exception to be made to the standard cancellation policies, in cases of:

Please note:

* Refunds will only be processed upon provision of an official receipt from the British Council.
* Refunds can take up to six weeks to process. 
* Candidates who are absent on the test day will lose their full test fee.
* The British Council reserves its rights to decline refund requests.
* Any refund will be paid to your credit card account.

TRANSFER OF TEST DATE / TEST MODULE

Candidate may transfer the test date: 

・Five weeks before the scheduled test date  – free of charge
・Less than five weeks before the scheduled test date  – 25% of test fees applies as an administration fee 
・Less than five days before the scheduled test date – no transfers can be arranged, except in the exceptional circumstances stated below.

The exceptional circumstances

Candidate may be able to request for an exception to be made to the standard transfer or transfer policies, in cases of:

• Distress on test day
• Domestic or family
• Government mandated obligation
• Medical or bereavement (such as hospital admission or a major injury, or loss of a close family member)
• Wider civil disruption

To apply for any of these exceptional circumstances, you are required to submit an official certificate within 5 working days of your test date.

* Candidates can only change their test date/module ONCE.
* Your request will be subject to the availability of test date/module.
* The British Council reserves its rights to decline test date transfer requests.
