Kenji Toda joined Eisai Co., Ltd. (assigned to the Pharmaceutical Marketing Division) in 1969. He was appointed as Director of International New Drug Development Department in 1984. He moved to London as Managing Director（President）of Eisai Europe Ltd and also held the position of Board Director at Eisai Research Institute in London University. He was Director of Corporate Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Department, Board Director of Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance and Product Information and Vice President of Product Quality and GMP Compliance at Eisai Co., Ltd in Tokyo. In 2004 he was appointed Vice President and Deputy Director of Corporate Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance Headquarters and Senior Vice President, Government Relations in 2006.
Since 1999 he has been Chairman of International Affairs Committee, Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA). Since 2009 he has been Deputy Director General, International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (IFPMA).
He is an Honourable Fellow of University College, London University and an Honorary Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
