Misinformation, bias, and ‘fake news’ have all become common in today’s media. It is increasingly important to know how to make sense of news and information from both traditional and social media sources. Media and information literacy is also considered to be a key skill by the United Nations. This course has been written by a former journalist with a decade’s worth of newsroom experience.
On this course you will:
- learn about how the media works and influences people
- apply critical thinking to media consumption
- use written and spoken English to critique media
