In addition to staging shows and exhibitions, we partner with others on joint Arts projects and help develop creative leadership, professional networks and cultural educational programmes worldwide.

We promote the best of the UK’s performing arts sector through a range of activities and events including tours of new productions, workshops and residencies, seminars and conferences, showcases and UK study visits for overseas practitioners.
Visual Arts
We promote British visual arts through a range of activities and events including touring exhibitions, workshops, seminars, and conferences. Explore and read about the British Council Collection, featuring around 9,000 works of British art. The Collection is currently on show in Japan in the touring exhibition Private Utopia.
