This new production, based on the production by David McVicar, is adapted to the “New Normal”, respecting social distancing and other COVID-19 prevention measures.
Based on Shakespeare's comedic masterpiece portraying the uproar created at the whims of a sprite, this opera was composed using about half the text of the original work. The drama unfolds with motifs and harmonies in Britten's inimitable style, revealing three vivid worlds: that of the fairies, the lovers and the tradespeople. The notable music, full of variety, will delight audiences and draw them into a world of fantasy, with particularly impressive highlights such as the boy soprano fairy ensemble and the countertenor fairy king Oberon.
