BBC Proms, one of the world’s great classical music festivals, held each summer primarily in London, will come to Japan under the title of BBC Proms JAPAN 2019. With the philosophy of bringing the finest music to a wide audience, internationally famous musicians from a range of countries and generations perform a varied and rich selection of music, including not only classical music but also jazz and music from around the world. To commemorate the first Japan edition of the BBC Proms, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, renowned for the high level of its performances, will make its Japan debut under the lead of its Chief Conductor, Thomas Dausgaard. With a free performance on the streets of Shibuya, the orchestra will enable people to enjoy quality music in a more immediate way.
