​Edie, a film which portrays an 83 year-old woman taking on the challenge of mountain climbing against the backdrop of Scotland’s majestic natural scenery, will be shown at Cine Switch Ginza and other cinemas. Since opening in the UK in May 2018, the film has won the Juried Narrative Prize at the Berkshire International Film Festival and the International Narrative Prize at the Cleveland International Film Festival. Directed by Simon Hunter (Mutant Chronicles), the film stars Sheila Hancock, an actress who is herself 83 years old, in the title role. It’s never too late to enjoy life! In this moving story, the heroine, who has devoted her life to her husband and family, decides to pursue her longstanding dream of climbing the Scottish mountain Suilven, taking the first steps towards living for herself.
