In 2022, the British Council launched 'Alumni UK' a global network that connects UK Alumni (people who have studied in or with the UK as an overseas student) from around the world. Registering with Alumni UK allows you to expand your international network, exchange information with other UK Alumni that can help you in your career development, and access exclusive events for skills and career development. In addition to online opportunities, the British Council organises face-to-face events for UK Alumni in Japan.
One such programme is the ‘Alumni UK salon sessions’, which will launch in March 2024. We hope this will be a space where UK Alumni in Japan who studied at various UK Higher Education Institutions and courses of different generations and career stages can share knowledge and experiences with each other, get tips on career paths and skills development, and learn about other industries and business sectors. Each salon session will consist of two parts: a talk featuring UK Alumni as speakers, followed by time for casual networking. We hope to create an informal and friendly atmosphere and provide opportunities for UK Alumni to exchange information and interact with each other on a variety of topics, such as their experiences while studying in the UK, their subsequent career development, the industry they are currently working in and any challenges they may be facing.
We will be host the second session on Monday 3 June 2024 and look forward to meeting you then.
