Yokohama is located in the centre of Japan, on the Pacific Ocean and just south of Tokyo. The city is Japan’s second most populous with 3.7 million inhabitants. It has served as an important trading port since 1859 and was one of the first cities connecting Japan to the rest of the world. The New Directions 2019 venue is in the PACIFICO Yokohama, one of the largest convention centres in the world. The PACIFICO Yokohama is located in the Minato Mirai 21 district of Yokohama, surrounded by water, greenery, and complete with a variety of accommodation, restaurant options, and more. The conference centre is a short train ride from Haneda airport and downtown Tokyo.
