What is Learning Time with Timmy?

In partnership with Aardman animation studio, the world-famous character Timmy is featured in the animated show 'Timmy Time' which helps children learn new words through stories. Timmy and his friends help children develop their imagination, which increases their engagement in the learning process. The fun and memorable experiences encourage children to learn and help build a solid foundation in English. 

Learning objective and Content: 

  • Build confidence in speaking English sentences while playing with stories. 
  • Develop creativity and begin to express their own ideas. 
  • Improve your reading and writing skills to prepare you for elementary level. 

Your child will learn through the following activities: 

  • Describe, imitate, and change familiar stories 
  • Create and express your own stories through art, theatre, dance, movement, information and communication technology, and writing. 
  • Acknowledge your feelings and voice some of them 
  • Describe yourself, express your likes and opinions 
  • Create legible letters and short sentences 
  • Expand your vocabulary by classifying and naming objects. 
  • Connect letters and sounds, break down simple words into syllables and read those sounds all at once 

 

Primary 1 Starter & Primary 1 – The Lion King

Primary 1 Starter & Primary 1 – The Lion King

Help your child learn English with Disney’s The Lion King! Through storytelling, role-plays, and interactive activities, children will develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while exploring themes of family, friendship, and responsibility. Engaging and fun, this course helps build confidence in English in a meaningful way.

Vocabulary: animal food chain, jungle landscape, feelings and emotions, members of family.

Primary 2 Starter & Primary 2 – Toy Story  

Join on a fun-filled English-learning adventure with Disney Pixar’s Toy Story! Through storytelling, role-plays, and interactive activities, children will learn about toys, emotions, and clothes while developing their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Engaging and imaginative, this course builds confidence in English through play and creativity. 

Learning objective and Content:

Vocabulary: Toy words, Adjectives to describe things, action verbs, words to describe rooms and furniture, words to describe body parts. 

Grammar:    

  • Ask and answer questions about likes and dislikes 
  • Using the auxiliary verb Can to express possibility 
  • Using the present tense 

Writing and Speaking:

  • Asking and answering questions about themselves and their classmates. 
  • Writing and sharing about their favourite toy. 
  • Making a timeline of favourite toys and how preferences have changed over time. 
  • Sharing about their best friends and things they like to do together. 
Primary Plus 3 & 4 – Core English + English Club 

What is Core English?
A series produced specifically by HarperCollins for the British Council. This course aims to help students develop interpersonal communication skills necessary for school and life, and to facilitate bilingualism.  Audiovisual materials are used as an effective learning tool to help students participate in class with interest and improve their listening skills. 

What is English Club?
Engage in project-based learning through sessions based on a real-life task. These sessions are designed by British Council expert teachers to provide dynamic avenues for language practice.  

Core English Content 

Reading:  
• Understand main points from short texts 
• Deduce meaning from context  

Listening: 
• Understanding questions which ask for information 
• Understanding specific detail of short talk  

Speaking 
• Ask questions and respond accordingly 
• Describe people, places and objects

Secondary Plus
English course is tailored for students aged 12 to 15. This program is designed to enhance English proficiency with focus on exam preparation. This course engages students through real world topics to help them develop their language skills.

• Can write a blog post and post card about holiday

IELTS for Teens 
IELTS Preparation (Teens) helps you focus on the exam strategies you need to be successful. We will help you to familiarise yourself with the question format and learn how to approach different sections of the test. Our British Council in-house materials cover all question types and include useful tips for the exam, with authentic examination papers from Cambridge English allowing you to put these strategies into practice straight away.
