Clarity was founded in 1992 to publish computer-based materials for the teaching of English. In line with this vision, we have developed courses for general English, for exam preparation and English for Academic Purposes, as well as building placement tests (the British Council’s LearnEnglish Level Test, the Practical Placement Test, the Dynamic Placement Test). Over the last 25 years delivery has progressed from floppy disks for DOS to CD-Roms for Windows to online delivery and now to mobile delivery through HTML5.
Clarity's latest resource is the Dynamic Placement Test. This adaptive test sorts students into their CEFR bands quickly, conveniently and affordably. Test items include a variety of tasks specially designed to exploit the capabilities of online, multimedia delivery. The test runs on the test takers’ own devices and delivers results directly to the teacher's browser. Content has been devised by telc, the EU language testing experts.
